Are Americans too dependent on the automobile?

Yes, American are too dependent on the automobile. When given the option to either walk or drive the car a couple blocks away, almost 100% of the time, Americans choose to take their car. Also, more and more families have 2 or more cars, where they don't even drive all of the cars half the time. A lot of people are taking any public forms of transportation instead of walking to say if there was a movie theater in town or to wawa up the road or a couple blocks away. Cars have made it extremely simple to travel from place to place and a lot faster than walking. It all comes down to how lazy Americans have become and take the fastest and easiest way out.
